Liverpool Create History - Club World Cup

Through their history Liverpool FC, struggled to gain their hands on the World Club Domination by winning the Club World Cup Final. In all their previous competitions, they failed to even score a goal.
Jurgen Klopp was pressurized by the British Media to not ignore the Carabao Cup & to not to focus on the Club World Cup but he did the contrary.
Liverpool FC traveled their squad to UAE in order to win the First ever Club World Cup and register themselves in English history books as the first English Club to compete their International Treble.

Nevertheless, as they eased their way through Final, Flamengo awaited them to compete for the title. It was an intense game, some bizarre refereeing displays all across the 90 minutes and the Extra Time. Most decisions were contradicting the fouls even, and time was wasted again and again over the course of full 90 minutes.

Liverpool started the first & second halves with pace and intensity. They wanted the victory but were unable to convert chances that came their way that they'd usually score on an ordinary day. They were fighting against history.
Ox suffered an injury blow on the ankle, it was a determined & strong mid-field combination with Keita & Ox pairing in the middle with Jordan Henderson. Van Dijk made his come back to play CB alongside Gomez & Trent starting along side Robertson.

90 minutes passed in a brisk and it took to the Extra time phase. It was in the first 15 minutes of extra time where magic happened when Henderson's pass to Mane looked as if Sadio would go on and win the winner for them, but he unselfishly makes way for Firmino and Firmino with few dancing touches in the box sends the keeper wrong way & manages to find the space between the defenders. and Boom! There goes Firmino celebrating, he's removed his shirt, and there he goes celebrating to the corner flag!
For the rest of time, Liverpool were simply keeping their heads up to not let them concede but also were looking opportunities here and there to nudge another goal.

Final whistle: Liverpool 1 - 0 Flamengo.

The celebrations were immsense! The players reflect what it meant for them, how they value being the champions of the world.
Roberto Firmino's heroics at the Extra Time will forever be preserved in the History of this Club.

Jordan Henderson had made himself a hero, a cult hero, and a Legend in the history books of Liverpool F.C.

Jurgen Klopp took just a few years to dethrone Manchester United as the most successful English club with 2 trophies more with them.

Liverpool up against Flamengo - Club World Cup Final

After a surprisingly odd teamsheet, it would come to everyone's surprise had Liverpool have won comfortably. Players playing in unfamiliar positions, roles changed, Mane & Firmino rested, Van Dijk unavailable due to illness, Gini injured last week, CB scare for Liverpool and Henderson to step up as a Center Back in place of VVD alongside Joe Gomez.

Monterrey were playing good football with positive intent, they showed they wanted to play in the Final but there were some flaws in their approach. There were some irrational tackles, some off sides and some slides every time a Liverpool player seemed to take the ball forward.
With all that sad, Salah was in mood to create play rather be the play. As he in 11th minute gave a worldie of a pass to Keita who with his unnoticed forward run sent the ball in the goal with no effort.
He already has 3 goals for Liverpool since his comeback and is far from his best but still is showing signs why Liverpool wanted him in the squad and Klopp insists on his support towards the Guinean.

Monterrey quickly equalized, but then for the rest of 70 so minutes the keepers had quiet an active role both the sides of field. 2nd Half changes were made, Trent, Mane, & Firmino were brought on and it was again Liverpool coming out victors in the injury time. Salah kept the ball alive, passes to Trent and Trent with perfectly placed ball to Firmino who nudges it on the right of the Keeper and Liverpool earned the lead right at the injury time.
Worries were over the selection of team and VVD absence but Liverpool managed to have sealed the win and will be hoping Virgil Van Dijk is available for Saturday Final in order to strengthen the squad defensively. Positives were seen from Keita and Alisson who were involved time to time again in the game.

Looking at this, and the team's performance Atletico Madrid are struggling & rumors of Simeone's sacking post season are already in the Spanish air.

Liverpool Top Watford

It was Liverpool's final pre-christmas fixture that too Anfield and against a Watford side that's fighting relegation this season. It was anticipated as easy day out for Klopp's men but it wasn't that easy.

Liverpool had an off day today from the Start, sloppy in the field after that crucial CL fixture lads seemed bit lazy in the field.
Until it required bit of magic from Mo Salah.
Firmino's cheeky pass, Sadio's through ball and Salah's magical display of skill combined with calculated shot on the weak foot saw Liverpool go 1-0 up at the 38th minute.
But things weren't easy for the next 60 odd minutes. Watford were questioning the strength of European Champions and consistently the ones with lose chances & lose attempts. Some even tested the best of Alisson Becker.
Though all ended with a smile as Salah nutmegs Watford defender with a no look cheeky backheel shot to take the brace out of the game.

The only concern today will be Gini Wijnaldum. His injury concern will have worried most of the fanatics as he has been the workhorse for Liverpool over the last two seasons.

Some Friday for the Reds! Contract Extension!

As we were closing in on Klopp running out of LFC contract we began to sweat ourselves. The question didn't seem to quit on being asked when will the extension happen or whether it even take place? Who should be a replacement?

Well, out of nowhere Liverpool FC's Official Twitter Handle released a video of Jurgen Klopp letting the family (fans) know he will be staying at the club for another four and half years.
He expressed the reason behind extending his contract further as the club's position and relations with the Owners have been warming ever since Klopp took over. The trust that he had been shown in has reflected in his deals with the club. Over the years he had completed some magnificent signings at a humble price who then later dominated global stage. To name a few, Andy Robertson, Gini Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane and Mohammad Salah are one of those. Other than these Other players have also evolved to their best under him.

This is the video link to Klopp's announcement:

LFC fans were curious with ever since the UCL win in June this year whether Klopp will be extending his term or not?
Mind you, he has changed the nature of fans now, he has made doubters to believers and this psychology does reflect in the way his team plays.

Other than Klopp, assistant managers Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz have also been given extensions.
Klopp has also praised the efforts of Michael Edwards, Liverpool's Sporting Director in making unbelievable things believable and possible.

The FSG are more than happy with Klopp and it feels that the atmosphere that they have built together seems to leave an everlasting impact for the fans & may write a significant and beautiful chapter to the vast history of this club.
We are absolutely delighted we have been able to reach an agreement with Jurgen - as well as Peter & Pep - on extending their time with the club. As we are sure our supporters would agree, it is truly wonderful news & we are all extremely thrilled.                                                                                                                                            - FSG
Fans have shown rejoice hearing this news and believe there are greater things to look forward to as Klopp strengthens the squad and makes them reach newer heights. A fine history is to be wrote now, and we believe we are lucky to witness this. Most haven't witnessed the Shankly's or Paisley's but this chapter will always be inked in Gold for Liverpool.

Minamino Linked to Liverpool

Ever since his fine display at Anfield in October, Minamino has gained the attention of many European top clubs. One among them was the very opponent he scored a beautiful volley against in Salzburg's 4-3 defeat at Anfield.
You are right, it is the reigning UCL Champions Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's recently been praising the club for they have been doing with a young squad who are eager and hungry to perform on the world stage.

Post knockout from the UCL, Salzburg's midfielder and versatile playmaker Takumi Minamino has been linked with the Reds. The Japanese has a release clause of 7.25 Million Euros which the Premier League toppers are going to trigger in the January Window to boost their chances at the competitions they've been competing post January.

Official confirmation came on the transfer talks with Liverpool from the Salzburg Sports Director Christoph Freund regarding Minamino as:
I can confirm that there are discussions with Liverpool.

Liverpool are eager on offering the Japanese International with a five year contract. In other news, it has been reported Timo Werner is another target for January as the German has been in some fine form this season for RB Leipzig.

Liverpool Go Through!

With all to play for, it was evident Liverpool would have to give Champions' Performance at Salzburg. A side that has proven itself, proven their valor, the vehemence they play with has been commended all across the Europe. They are a young side, with many stars playing for them, Minamino & Haaland one of the few. They looked forward to hosting the European Champions at home and make them play for the win, make them grind out the win.

Intense Start - Counter Attacks Countered!

The first half was probably one of the highly intense nail-biting contest with both sides not shy of going forward. Salzburg took the game to Liverpool they were oozing confidence, they were making runs forward towards grinding out a score, but courtesy some fine defending being done at the back the threat imposed by the young Salzburg squad was marvelously breath-taking.

It was a game you'd expect either sides to go on and score eventually. Some close chances that should have been netted by Salah were missed, simultaneously on the other hand Haaland & Minamino were constantly trying to get through the back line of Liverpool. There were more than 10 Attempted Shots in the first half.
When there should have been 3-3 it was 0-0 at Half-Time.

Second Half kicked off same as the first, though Liverpool seemed composed, Mane with having run downs constantly trying to get his name on scoresheet but his moment of brilliance was a lofted ball to Keita who manages to guide the ball by his head to the net. and Bang! Former Salzburg players have teamed up together against their former club.

Since Liverpool missed on conventional goals they should have bagged, they didn't shy away from scoring a screamer within a span of 2 minutes they scored 2!

Henderson guides the ball to Salah who runs down all alone with a Defender chasing & a Goalie coming at him, the touch he makes to avoid him the angle narrows down to nearly an impossible point and then with his right foot Salah scores a screamer! That angle was no way there to be scored!

After that 2nd goal Liverpool were comfortably in the game controlling the ball, managing possession and effortlessly seeing out the threats that Salzburg provided them with. That is how Liverpool, the reigning European Champions go through!

Now they prepare to face Watford on Saturday and to keep their 33 game unbeaten run to 34.
